The armory · 3620 Main
The 1922 armory is restored as the landmark of the campus. A food hall and chef-led dining fill the ground floor. An event hall sits under the historic barrel roof, with offices and loft apartments above.
The market building · 3604–3614 Main
The second building grows from one story to three. Shops, a market and the corner restaurant, Hyde & Main, sit at street level. Offices fill the second floor and apartments with balconies the third, with a rooftop pavilion on top.
On the street
A landscaped courtyard between the buildings and sidewalk cafés open onto Main. Streetcars stop out front in both directions, linking the block to Crown Center and the new ballpark about 1.1 miles north.
About these renderings
This is a conceptual 3D visualization. Buildings are shown at approximate size and position. People, trees, furniture and interiors are simplified, and the surrounding neighborhood is shown in general form. The design is subject to change and to City and historic approvals.

From across Main Street
Today the armory sits between a vacant lot and a one-story commercial building. The proposal restores the armory, turns the lot into a landscaped courtyard, and raises the market building to three stories with a rooftop pavilion.
Looking west over the block
Streetcars run both ways on Main, sidewalk cafés line the building fronts, and the rear parking lot and neighboring houses behind the campus stay as they are.
From above
North is at the top and Main Street runs along the right edge. The new rooftop terrace sits on the market building at the north end of the campus, next to the armory’s barrel roof.
